The push comes despite Norwood, Payneham & St Peters Council, which owns the oval, endorsing two other options. NP&SP Mayor Robert Bria said the Redlegs presented preliminary plans for the Baulderstone Stand option at a meeting between the club and council in February. "What they showed (the) council was very impressive," Mr Bria said. The new clubrooms to be shared by the club and local RSL branches were first mooted in 2010. The Redlegs wanted to demolish the Baulderstone Stand and replace it with $3 million three-storey clubrooms, which it hoped would be ready for the 2011 season. But prolonged negotiations between the club, the council and the RSL have delayed the project's start. Water bills hurt clubs SPORTS clubs are struggling to keep up with skyrocketing water bills that have forced some to consider turning off the taps just to make ends meet. Clubs are considering replacing lawns with synthetic grass, foregoing much-needed upgrades or increasing membership fees to cover rising prices.
